Hello Everyone,
This year I am going to participate in the annual #diversaton from January 22 to January 28th. This list of books are diverse books that are currently on my shelf! If you wanted to read some diverse books and are not sure what books there are or need more books to add to your TBR – Here you go!
We need change. "Why do we need diverse books?" It's really a simple answer, who's story is it. we want DIVERSE books to make those who are in the shadows not forgotten, not someone's side meal. They impact those who need their story told so they don't feel alone or invisible. They're voices are not put on silent. People are not the same, we need to stop oppressing those and displayed the ones that need to be heard, loud and clear. I believe in equality and that no one should be ashamed of who they identify themselves We need more #ownstories and #weneedmorediverse book.
I want my blog to be an open and safe space for all individuals. Be proud of who you are. Don’t fight hate with hate, violence with violence, do it with love. Love is love is love is love! Spread love!! Spread Happiness! We should love each other. This year I want to have more than a shelf to respect all the colours and spectrum. To show off diversity. Diverse books especially in Young Adult it helps fight that dark feeling inside of feeling oppressed, feeling different, feeling like you do not belong in society, that you have no rights and freedom. The world is false without diversity. Books are dull without diversity. We are not human without diversity. We need more Diverse books.
I am starting a series on my blog of diverse books from picture books to adult novels. I hoping this little project of mine will start in February and continue on for the year. More details on coming soon.
Happy Diversathon! Read On!
Comment below any of the books I have listed below or any to reccomend for me !
Love, Maddi
